A large, Welsh coastal seascape oil painting. Created over a number of weeks, step by step, allow drying time and to visually adjust until reaching the point of completion. A large, Welsh coastal seascape oil painting. Created over a number of weeks, step by step, allow drying time and to visually adjust until reaching the point of completion. Inspired by my many trips to Wales, in particularly Anglesey where the sea views are spectacular. Painted in a semi abstract style with energy and vigour. Dark in colour with Prussian Blue and dark Teal playing an important role. Warm whites create the roaring and foaming waves whilst Payne's Grey, symbolise the rocks of the cliff edge. Painted using quality oils paints onto a large 70 x 70 cm stretched canvas.

Looking forward to getting back to the coast soon.

Sealed with gloss varnish to seal and protect the surface of the artwork.

I’m a designer and artist based in Standish that is a village in between Liverpool and Manchester. After graduation from Art College I spent 15 years working as a freelance surface pattern designer, creating pattern for the worldwide interior furnishings industry. Inspired by the vibrancy of Kandinsky and the complexity of Morris from a very early age art has always been my obsession, my joy, my love but as the computer became essential in the design process my passion dwindled and I took an opportunity to start a teaching career combined with professional painting . Painting gives back all the freedom and so much more, there are no rules, no restrictions, just pure exploration and creativity.
I use oils, acrylics and often experiment with resins and I work on board, canvas and use quality papers.
