" L'Eveil" est un souvenir de mon enfance à la campagne.
Ce que j'aimais par dessus tout c'était d'observer les entrelacs de ronces et de fougères qui poussaient derrière le hangar de mes parents, cette nature qui reprenait ses droits me fascinait.
Dans mon esprit d'enfant cette barrière végétale cachait un secret, un monde inconnu, inaccessible et pourtant si proche.
Cette oeuvre au couteau est à la fois inspirée de mes promenades du dimanche et de mes souvenirs enfantins.
Le posé de la peinture est travaillé comme de la dentelle, comme une tapisserie tissée méticuleusement. Cette oeuvre est un mélange de technique et de fantaisie, mon savoir faire d'aujourd'hui et mon imaginaire du passé.

« The Awakening» is based on a childhood memory, in the countryside.

What I enjoyed most as a child was to observe the gnarled and twisted bows and branches of bramble, thorn bushes and bracken, all of which grew at the back of the shed, at my parents’.
The fact that Nature endlessly reasserts itself, is a constant source of wonder and amazement to me.
In my child’s mind this intricate green pale was hiding a secret :an unknown and inaccessible world, yet so close at hand.
Inspiration for this art-piece derived from two main sources : Childhood reminiscences and the powerful impressions stemming from my leisurely Sunday walks in the countryside.
We could compare the meticulous paint-work to the weaving of a tapestry, or to some delicately intricate lace-working. This art-piece combines both my artistic technique and blooming imagination with the specific know-how I presently master and my former fanciful ideas.
