Jacques PINEAU was born in 1954. He learned the technique of enamel in his parents’ studio and studied during 5 years in the National School of Decorative Arts in Limoges.
Between 1978 and 1989, his work consists mainly in the creation of enamelled jewellery and decorative pieces.
In 1990, he settles in the South of France (Pays Basque) and turns towards the art of glass. His studio is open to the public. He creates decorative objects such as vases, bowls, plates, and unique pieces : “dalles”, “portiques”, “Tableaux” mural panels in a more graphic trend. He also designs and makes artistic furniture such as small tables.
His technique consists of a superposition of glass, enamels, oxydes and inclusions of thin metallic sheets. The pieces are mostly thermoformed. They are fired in an oven during two days or more (according to their mass).
His work is presented in several french galleries :
Montpellier Galerie Place des Arts
Paris Galerie Le Sud
Toulouse Galerie Art Espace
In Netherlands
Leuwarden St Joseph Gallery
Amsterdam Galerie Kuhler
Leerdam galerie Broft
