These pieces are from series of MAQUETTES - WALL SCULPTURE DIORAMAS and SHADOW BOXES. They are designed integrating discarded computer and electronic components which but a few years back were the latest innovations I utilized in the film production business. The guts of these finely machined parts are envisioned to be reproduced in scaled-up, public space environment against the backdrop of an iconographic collage of images and reflective walls. The human figures are in scale to the monumental environments.

Aleks Rosenberg is an American multi-disciplinary artist and filmmaker. The central themes found in his works relate to the 'outsider looking into the darkness of the human vortex' countered by the optimism of 'no matter what, the sun will always rise tomorrow'. For Rosenberg, there has always been the tension between light and darkness, and as such, his compositions seek to find a balance between the two extremes.

He works with materials that, at first glance, seem contradictory and even arbitrary. He may start with an idea but no specific end vision. It's the handling of the material and research that bring the ideas to life. He treats each project as a scientific experiment as the work builds upon itself. The accidental discoveries guide the mechanics of the execution and the final piece. The magic happens when work blends with play and the time disappears.

Resides in the United States and has exhibited and sold his works internationally. He received his BFA from Pratt Institute and MFA from Yale University School of Art.
