Isabel Tabellion is an independent French photographer who, together with her professional practice in the fields of architecture and the environment, has been developing for several years a creative practice that directly questions the specificities of photography; photorealism, mechanical reproducibility, immediacy. It is in this approach that she explores new territories.

Today, these manipulations on sensitive surfaces now give captivating draperies that are as evocative as they are dreamlike. This is a transformation that she has been carrying out for several years on the emulsion of Polaroid films by treating them in a pictorial way. In this approach, she explores spaces of freedom offered by the medium and especially the singularities of professional Polaroid films. With or without a captured image, emulsion has become its basic material for several years. Fascinated by its texture and chemistry, she appropriates its materiality and fragility. Sensitive surface is also the name given to the gelatin charged with photosensitive elements which constitute the emulsion which after exposure and treatment will produce the photographic image.
