A fantasy dream scape, influenced by the Art Nouveau style. The painting was created without using models, photographs, or sketches. Working on the only from memory, and intuition, for me creates an intuitive visual portal for the viewer. I also decided to use wood, instead of canvas to create the piece. The painting being created on wood, is leaked to my childhood. As a child, my earliest attempts, at painting were done using unconventional materials, such as house paint on wood, or cardboard. During a visit to the National Gallery of Art museum in Washington DC, I was surprised to learn that, Gauguin, Picasso, Cassatt and Degas to name a few, all have created masterpieces using unconventional materials.

ARTIST STATEMENT

Over the past twelve years, I’ve been working with acrylic paint, ink, pencil and mixed media. During this time period, I was inspired by an assortment of topics, while repeating one of my mainstay topics, music, and culture. I enjoy creating in the moment, because it allows the intuitive sensibilities too be part of the process.    I bring an eclectic aesthetics with me into the studio, which I transfer into what I create, and share with the audience. My passion and emotions, guided by my skill set, is what I aspire to transfer, visually to the viewer, through the media.
