Biography

I am a filipino contemporary artist i was born at Olongapo city Philippines in October 11, 1974      I studied Bachelor of Fine Arts major in Advertising at Far Eastern University in the Philippines. I also studied Drafting Technology at Technological Institute of the Philippines.        My first inclination in art when I was at my third grade in primary school. From then on I actively participated in some contest in art specifically in poster making contest.   My early works as an artist were heavily influenced by post-impressionist painters.    In 2007 I moved to Paris France to relive and continue my dream as an artist. Currently i am gracing Paris’ contemporary art scene. I am also a founding member of Kwadro Pintura, a group of promising Filipino-Parisian Artist who intends to promote our artistic sensibilities in our second country and home france. I consider myself as an eclectic type of artist and my art style is pivoting around Social Realism and symbolism to surrealism. And my usual and favorite subjects is game roosters

Artist Statement

"My goal is to inspire those who see my work to look more carefully not only on the positive side of life but also on the negative side and learn to face adversities with courage and resilience."

My work reflects on what I went through in life, my inspiration is my personal experience, my observations and what i feel. I paint my triumphs and my failures as well as my dreams and reality. My artwork takes a critical view of social and cultural issues. I want people from all walks of life to see my cultural background through my artwork as a tribute to my fellow hardworking Filipino workers abroad who dreams of providing a better life to their families back home. The usual subject in my artwork is a rooster, I use rooster either as a symbolism to a particular theme or as the main character in my paintings as I was once a rooster raiser in my native land, Philippines. I was very fascinated on these beautiful birds. Aesthetically, they are beautiful animals, whether it is a rooster or a hen. Their plumage is smooth varying from different colors depending on their breed. Roosters are brave too. Symbolically, roosters depicts a new day, a new life, pride and bravery. Whatever trials that come into our lives, we must not lose hope just like the rooster we know there is always a new day for us to start again
