This Ash Cicada is part of a series of studies on Mediterranean insects. Insects belong to these endangered species. The soft character and texture of the monotype technique gives the animals a strange, almost ghostly appearance, reminiscences of living beings, a metaphor for their dramatic disappearance ... original drawing, linocut inks.

I like to play with the possibilities offered by papers in all its forms, noble or recovered: silk papers, Japanese, prints, kraft paper, cut, glued, stuck, folded, torn ... I take care also the sometimes unexpected results of printing (monotypes, woodcuts, stamps ...), which, unexpectedly, come to slip into a collage ...
Other materials of recovery sometimes impose themselves, metaphors of past times. Nostalgia for childhood is never far away either. The compositions, which progressively evolve towards more abstraction, also borrow colors from Mediterranean nature, as in the series "squares of the Mediterranean".
