L'artiste GUY APPOLINAIRE KASSI, est un ancien pensionnaire du Lycée d'enseignement artistique d'Abidjan ( 1992 - 1995 ) et de l'école nationale des beaux arts d'Abidjan ( 1996 - 1999 ). C'est à partir de la deuxième année des Beaux arts qu'il se spécialisera à l'art de la Gravure où, il apprendra toutes les techniques de cette discipline artistique.
En 1999, il sort de l'Ecole des beaux arts avec un Diplôme d'Etudes Supérieures Artistiques, option GRAVURE.
Dès cet instant, et pour se faire valoir dans le monde de l'art plastique, l'artiste va décider d'orienter ses créations dans la technique de la gravure sur bois ( ou TAILLE D'EPARGNE ) : cette technique va consister à creuser autour du dessin qui est "épargné" et resté en saillie par rapport aux parties creusées, dans une planche de contreplaqué, en vue de nous en servir pour imprimer des supports ( feuilles de papiers, tissus ).
Le 23 décembre 1999, c'est en tant qu'étudiant que l'artiste arrive à AGEN ( France ), sous l'invitation de sa fiancée.
Dès l'an 2000, l'artiste va faire deux expositions :
- une première exposition de gravures en juillet , " AU CAFE DE L' ABBAYE " ( st-Maurin 47270 ). Pendant cette exposition, il participera en parallèle à un concours du musée de l'abbaye. Concours au cours duquel il va réaliser son premier GRAPH de sa vie pour remporter le premier prix du crédit agricole.
- Du 19 août au 24 Septembre , l'artiste va encore exposer ses gravures et dessins au " CENTRE ARTISTIQUE ET CULTUREL JACQUES BOYER " ( Escalquens 31750 ).

Après une longue période d'inactivité, sans exposition entre 2002 et fin 2014, c'est en avril 2015, qu'il va finalement reprendre ses activités artistiques.
