I was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota and went to University of Minnesota/Mankato for two years as an art major. I then studied riding/horses in England for over two years. When I returned to the United States my career path was riding and showing hunter & jumper horses for many years. Later I started a real estate company and became a certified Real Estate appraiser.
One of my life dreams was to continue with my life passion of painting. However, it was very difficult to paint and work at the same time, so I decided to make a change in my life. In 2004 I decided that I would give up my real estate ventures to pursue my art career.
I applied and was accepted into the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and was going to start in September of 2004, but subsequently decided to follow a different path. I realized that I wanted to study with working artists whose style I appreciated and related to. As a result I enrolled in workshops on portraits and figures and landscapes.
In order to develop my quality of work my goal has been to do one small painting a day and also work on my larger pieces.
Happy Painting!!!!
