Pen and acrylic color on handmade thai mulberry paper(kada sa), deckled edged, 8 x 11.5 in., 20 x 29 cm.
Here’s a fun item I outlined years ago…. Then misplaced. So finding this brought pleasant souvenir for me of a time I lived in Singapore. Of course that city evolves so fast, the ice cream carts may no longer be there.
I use a traditional mulberry paper handmade in Thailand. It’s a parchment like paper, strong yet pliable. I have the paper made to this size to get the uneven deckled edges which adds to the textural effect. Note for print purpose I have cropped the edges. Please see second picture to view the deckled edges.
The close up picture is of higher resolution to be able to get a feel for the texture and brush strokes of the painting.
Please note that you can purchase up to 3 paintings of this same size or smaller in 1 order to be included in the same 1 shipping fee.
Packaging for my small paintings like this one is sealed in plastic sleeve, sealed in a padded hard plastic file case, and in an envelope.

About framing this painting.
When considering framing bear in mind to not cover up the deckled edges. This is one of the specialties of the painting, one of its charms. It is best displayed framed with a cut mat board around the painting so as not to cover the edges, thereby putting some space between the art and the glass and bringing depth to the framed art. It can also be framed simply with backing board and pressed with glass over the front without causing damage.

I'm Canadian born now residing in Malaysia. I've been working professionally as a freelance artist since the 1980's … time flies.
I’ve travelled extensively over the years and you’ll see that people, places and cultures are a recurring theme in my art, as are nudes, architecture, orchids and nature. My love of tropical vistas is also reflected in the bright colours used. I work mainly with acrylic colours on paper, also handmade parchment papers. You’ll see that over time I’ve gone from representational to bold expression. Then there's book illustration, portrait, comic strip, graphite sketch and caricature. I also works with camera and computer, to create textured images brush strokes just can't deliver.
Since 1980 I’ve exhibited my paintings in Vancouver, Canada, Bangkok, Singapore & Malaysia, places where I’ve resided. More recently though my works can be viewed on online galleries … which allows me less interruptions to my creative time.
