Biography
Aan de Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam koos ze voor de afstudeerrichting Schilderen en Tekenen en in 1994 rondde ze de studie af. In 1996 ontving ze het startstipendium van het Fonds voor Beeldende Kunst Vormgeving en Bouwkunst (BKVB).
Martha Fyrigos woont en werkt in Amsterdam. Ze exposeert regelmatig en haar werk is te vinden in binnen- en buitenlandse privécollecties en kunstinstellingen.
Kleur en helder licht, volumes en de natuur vormen haar inspiratiebronnen. In haar vroegere werk plaatst zij grote volumes in landschappelijke composities. Het werk is monumentaal. Sinds 2004 werkt zij aan een serie met als thema “Nature”. Hierbij zoomt zij steeds meer in op organische vormen. Een zoektocht naar nieuwe beelden.
