ÈVE EN ABÎME 107 Augmented photography Limited edition: 5 signed numbered prints +2 artist copies FORMAT 80cm x 80cm All other formats on request Support of your choice: Alu Dibon or Plexiglas or Print on pro photo paper Eve, in our shared unconscious, remains the mother symbolic of all, so often painted or sculpted, just like the goddesses of reproductive love Venus or Aphrodite Sacred body considered to be at the origin of the world of humans and their civilizations. Influenced by the evolution of the artistic representation of the body of Eve or Venus through the ages, I tried to suggest the feeling of the decline of human civilizations and particularly of ours with for vector, its specific digital means. The long path of allegorical representations of women's bodies punctuates our culture and our unconscious: the parietal Venus, the Venus of Milo, The birth of Venus by Botticelli and that of Titian, the beautiful ladies by Rubens, then the great works of Boucher, Fragonard, Ingres, Delacroix, Manet, Picasso, Modigliani… Endless list… This is the story in image of the evolution of human societies from the Venus of Willendorf, cosmic mother… to the desperate nudes of Egon Schiele. I also mentioned the decline, in parallel, of nature through plant and animal presences, as sometimes in the great classical, baroque or romantic works (Douanier Rousseau, Géricault, De Vinci…). In successive paintings, I was inspired by this ancestral and enlightened staging of the female body. The digital editing allowed me, by its incomparable graphic possibilities to develop a phantasmagorical universe which supports my point, current means serving our contemporary confusion. But as with most of my work, the images in this “EVE EN ABÎME” series are only proposals delivered to the unique perception of each visitor on the basis of my own questioning. Small note: My digital photographic montages are made only from my own photographs without any appropriation. It is therefore not a question of collages but of photographs. - This is a repentance on a previous series, repentance made possible by digital work. My questions on this previous series led me to better understand my deep motivations and beyond take each image through what I discovered to have wanted to express: ÈVE EN ABÎME ...

Frédéric Didillon is a painter, photographer, videographer, lyricist and visual artist, who works today with digital arts and video, much more appropriate than other techniques for an open expression where nothing is impossible, interpretations, anachronisms , abstractions, dreams, illusions, escapes, paradoxes, reflections..., but he did not give up painting on canvas.

His painting on canvas directly follows his brain, his heart and finally his hand. His gesture reflects a nanosecond. It is for him to describe impermanence, these moments which follow one another, always different, reflecting each psychological moment.

Frédéric Didillon lives and works in Fontainebleau, France. His work is present in many private collections.
