Françoise Dagorn is a self-taught painter born in 1970 in the Hérault. After having had the chance for 20 years to live in wonderful places (Seychelles, Hawaii, French Polynesia, Reunion), she returned to her native region. During this rich life from an emotional point of view, painting presented itself to her as a perfect opportunity to deliver all that she felt in contact with these tropical islands and these different cultures. It was in the Seychelles that her artistic life began, but it was upon her return to France in 2012 that she developed her personal approach. His main source of inspiration comes from the beauties of the marine world. Fascinated by the harmonious forms of nature, her acrylic painting adds a colorful, imaginary and luminous touch. She paints the shapes of these marine animals by bringing a toned and lively aspect thanks to the gestures of the blade of the knife. Once a subject inspires her, she draws it and then comes the time to create the relief that will bring it to life. The acrylic is then applied in parallel strips, superimposing a range of improbable colors giving free rein to his figurative imagination. Her paintings evoke the immensity of the ocean and the freedom it gives to her subjects.

By sharing her love for marine animals, she wishes to raise awareness about the protection of marine biodiversity. “Creating an emotion is a first step towards awareness and this is what guides my painting“.

During the past 20 years, I have been lucky enough to live in some truly beautiful places including The Seychelles, Hawaii, French Polynesia, California, La Reunion Island, and not to forget my home, and current base, in the South of France. During these years I was able to discover fantastic landscapes and a multitude of cultures, each richer than the last. The colors, the lights and the moods that I encountered in these different places fascinated me. Seychellois artists such as Henri Nigel, George Camille and Colbet Nourrice gave me the wish to paint. Colbert Nourrice that Learnt me how to look at and immerse myself in my surrounds and paint with sincerity.
I use the knife to paint because I like the movement of the blade. The painting knife allows me to give the works a tonic and alive aspect. I am inspired by nature and especially by the fluidity of marine animals that immerse me in a world of harmony but so mysterious.while respecting the beautiful forms from the magic of nature, my acrylic paintings seek to color the bodies of these animals as if they were living canvases.
For me, painting means sharing, giving happiness and illuminating day-to-da
