Vision (2019) Painting by Florent Chamard

Self-taught, I have been painting, drawing or writing on a daily basis for around twenty years.
I work mainly in acrylic on all types of medium in medium and large format: canvas with or without stretcher, bed sheet, cardboard, hessian, paper. Most of the time, I start painting on my support laid flat on the floor. I turn around because I haven't yet chosen the physical orientation of the work. Then I finish by leaning it against a wall vertically when I've finally decided on its orientation.
My painting is organic, instinctive and done with "the seriousness of a child at play". I'm not trying to tell a story. What interests me is experimentation, the moment when I paint. The result belongs to those who will look at it. I do not have the will to create a coherent whole or to be identified by a style.
I left France and moved to Sweden a little more than a year ago. I had to leave all my creations behind. So I need to create new reference points ("beacons") here and fill the walls of my new studio.
