Ilgonis Rinkis, a contemporary Latvian painter, honed his artistic skills at the Academy of Fine Arts in Riga, Latvia. His studies focused on painting, drawing, and composition within the studio setting. In 1993, he furthered his artistic education by joining Ralph Janson's Painting Studio, dedicating a year to immersive learning.
Following this, Rinkis spent another year at Bruno Celmins's Painting Studio, deepening his understanding of the craft. His approach to painting revolves around capturing moments that are inherently transient and irreplaceable. Within these captured moments, Rinkis infuses a sense of melancholy, liveliness, and ephemerality, creating an allure that resonates within his artwork.
