Self taught illustrator and graphic artist, Kenzo Dahl, currently resides in the beautiful Quinte Region of Eastern Ontario after wanderings lead him to explore such locales as Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton, Los Angeles and Hawaii. While spending 14 years on the island of Kauai, he studied under several prominent Hawaiian artists and showed in various group exhibitions, in which, many of his images have found themselves in private collections worldwide.
Being drawn to black and white imagery since childhood, Kenzo's keen eye for detail results in stunning pen and inks with ink washes. He is currently working on century home illustrations for a series of historical atlases.
Continued work explores his fascination with paradox and contrast, through the simplicity of black and white line art and the nostalgia of architecture past. Future aspirations include mastering the use of gouache and watercolour to complement his impeccable draughtsmanship and solid composition.
