This is a painting of one of my favourite left handers in the country!
When the swell is big enough to wrap around the point Elands Bay delivers some of the longest walls around. It tends to get pretty crowded on weekends but during the working week it can be empty and a whole lot of fun! This day E-Bay was epic! It was the peak of summer and an unexpected ground swell hit the West Coast. The wind was a light offshore breeze holding the waves up just enough to create absolute perfection from the top of the point all the way down to the rivermouth on the inside. It was a day I will never forget.

Dylan Sage is an emerging young artist from Cape Town South Africa.
A keen surfer from a young age, Dylan spent much of his youth travelling the east and west coast of South Africa in search of perfect secluded surf spots, which would become his main form of inspiration in time.
After school Dylan studied Graphic Design at AAA School of advertising before taking up permanent employment as the stage manager at the nearby Theatre on the Bay. In 2008 Dylan spent a year travelling through Southern Europe taking in all the different cultures and artistic influences on display.
These days Dylan is focused primarily on his career as an artist.
Influenced by the breathtaking environmental scenery around him Dylan is constantly in search of new colours and textures to use in his work. Dylan uses a variety of different media, from canvas to vintage wood and fabric. All his work is done in oil paints.
Dylan captures the raw energy of the ocean in his seascapes and the power of sunlight in his abstract landscapes.
