Patricia Dubois is a contemporary French painter. Her work sits right in the middle of the impossible and its actuality. She aspires to represent that which defies logic. By pitting opposites against each other, ridicule is created. Realistic characters cross together with animals, nature, and gadgets in odd, eccentric scenarios on her canvases. The use of contrasting and intense colors creates a dreamlike ambiance, but the volume treatment grounds the scene and figures in the material's reality.
