Daniel Sanchez
Daniel Sanchez is a contemporary award-winning French sculptor. Being self-taught gave him the strength he needed to engage the material and put his primal need to create to the test. He worked with wood, resin, and marble during the years. Sanchez now prefers to work in absolute improvisation, especially with the marble that he goes looking for in the Pyrenees and sculpts as is. This allows him to engage in interaction with the stone and whatever he is experiencing at the time. Even if we identify the characteristic style, each time it opens on distinct and quite different sculptures.
Daniel Sanchez has exhibited his works nationally and internationally, in galleries, museums and art fairs.

FORME ET STRUCTURE / FORM AND STRUCTURE

FORM and STRUCTURE.
In my work, the link to Architecture, design, and purity emerged gradually, in a natural way, to become obvious.
My models are rather Santiago Calatrava, Zaha Hadid in architecture, Constantin Brancusi and more recently Antoine Poncet for sculpture.
This is probably related to questions of form and structure.
Outward form, the one we see. Inner structure, the one we are.
My first lands were figurative, inspired by the body, before moving quite quickly and intuitively towards something of the order of personal creation rather than that of reproduction. Creation that leaves room for my imagination and allows me to update what I am, what I live and what I believe in.
I am convinced that one can conceive only what one is, what one carries within oneself.
This notion of structure intrinsic to being itself takes on its full meaning when confronted with matter and its reality, whatever the dimension or the destination of work: sculpture or architecture ...
And I bet that what connects me to form when I create it, can in turn connect with others (people or places), echo.
