Songs of a Fringe Dweller (2019)
And so I dwell on its fringes as an outsider.
Outsider in thought and in deed.
And there is much joy on the fringes of society,
Unaware of their standards, never bowing to their gods of the skin deep lovers of smooth interactions.
Or haunted by the seeking of Comfort everlasting by and for its own sake.
Happy am I.
Lonely am I too though lonely as a solitary sailor braving rough seas.
The din of a myriad of chattering voices being absent, the entire of sky stars and sea take up space in thought and in heart.
Every waking moment since birth is an aesthetic experience for me.
My eyes search out harmony of colour, form and line, of shadow and light.
I am forever chasing my ideal of balancedness and harmony, a perfection of blended forms, a
convergence of line, visually, even in music and everyday experience.
A place where difference is real and the coming together of disparate personalities, perfection.
All my paintings are created while in the momentary state of inspiration.
There is no planning or preparation of any kind.
That is not to say they have no message, but rather the structure, the meaning, the colour
schemes all arise from the deepest part of myself, from the ubiquitous ‘I’.
That said, I am a person that loves ancientness and takes great joy in pondering the unknown,
for it is there that the magic of creativity comes alive.
