Allan Kardec Cardoso Teixeira, known by the alias Dek, was born on the 2nd of March, 1955, in Guapo, one of the smallest cities within the metropolitan area of Goiania, the capital of the Goias State in Brazil. In 1979, he graduated in architecture and urbanism from PUC (Pontific Catholic University - Goias). Not only did he embark on a career in architecture, but he also simultaneously delved into the realm of art.

During the 1980s, Dek's artistic journey took shape through participation in regional art shows, including the prestigious Gremi-80 award, as well as national exhibitions held in prominent cities such as Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Recife, Santos, Brasilia, and even internationally in Tokyo, Japan; Atami and Kyoto, Japan; Amsterdam and Rotterdam, Netherlands; Paris, France; Lisbon, Braga, and Porto, Portugal. Notable recognitions during this period include awards from Vasp in Goiania, Sanbra in Recife, and the Contemporary Salon Art Show in Santo Andre, Sao Paulo.

Culminating this era, Dek concluded with the 1990 Art Salon, where he received the Henrique Santillo award from the Governor of Goias State, along with a special mention from the jury. Additionally, he earned a trip award to Paris, France, for the Goias Biennale.

Subsequently, Dek ventured into the international art scene, with a particular focus on Italy and the United States. His artistic career, marked by a fusion of architectural and creative pursuits, showcases a trajectory that spans regional, national, and international platforms, earning him acclaim and recognition from various corners of the globe.
