Dan Quinamo,
Visual Artist from Espírito Santo, born in Vitória, Espírito Santo.
Since I was a child, I have always believed in a reality beyond matter, something beyond the obvious, beyond what physical eyes can see.
The first artistic manifestations appeared when I was around twelve years old, with abstract and colorful drawings made with markers.
Later, when I was approximately fifteen years old, in an attempt to express my beliefs, the things I saw, with the eyes of my soul, I painted landscapes with very high mountains, several suns and flying saucers, using chalk sticks, marker pens on paper and chalkboards. cellulose. In a new phase, masks appeared representing Egyptian, Mayan, Aztec and space beings; then, colorful mandalas in dry pastel chalk on cellulose, with their own characteristic, strong colors and lots of movement.
At twenty years old, in 1988, I had my first two exhibitions simultaneously. In one room I exhibited the masks and in another space, the exotic landscapes. I sold my first painting to a couple from Rio de Janeiro.
Years later, in an attempt to follow the trend, Contemporary Art, I directed the work towards abstract, geometry and neutral colors. I realized I was straying from the path and had to stop.
Some time later, meditating to seek and internally rescue my own art, the essence, which is unique in each being, uniting the passion for nature, the origin of the Brazilian people and strong colors, I developed a new work, more synthesized, more homogeneous, with my face and the face of Brazil, valuing Brazilian fauna and flora, Afro and indigenous elements, religious elements, in homage to our origin.
Currently living in Brasília, DF.
The Central-West Region is characterized by the cerrado; The Brazilian cerrado is my special inspiration, with a wealth of flora and fauna. With its exotic birds and flowers that bloom after the fires, in a breath of magic that only nature can create!
I offer my Art to the world, to nature lovers, to especially sensitive people and especially to our people, who are part of it, with their culture, beliefs, religiosity, musicality and passion for life!
