My name is
Dalila, I am an abstract painter. I sign my paintings under the nickname
Dalia, contraction of my first name but also in reference to the magnificent
ornamental flower that is the Dahlia which offers us an infinite diversity of
hues and shapes just like abstract art.
I have
always been attracted to painting and those since I was little, I had fun
already mixing colors and creating on white sheets what I
was going through my head.
I grew up in a family where art had no place, so I very quickly had to abandon this idea of following a course in art. art school, however this passion remained buried within me.
Why abstract art you ask me? Quite simply because I am hypersensitive and empathetic and the abstract allows me to put my emotions and feelings on canvas.
When I am in front of a canvas ready to paint, nothing matters anymore, the time stops so that emotions and sensations take over.
If we know exactly what we are going to do, what is the point of doing it? (Pablo Picasso)
My artistic inspiration comes from the trials of life which are only colors and harmony! Indeed, some will say that life is not a long, quiet river, that it is a road strewn with pitfalls. For me, these pitfalls and these winding roads to cross inspire me and allow me to create.
Beyond these challenges, there is also the beauty of nature, everything is a source of inspiration in this world that surrounds us, you just have to go on an adventure and open your heart in order to find your child's soul throughout this journey.
This is why my paintings are sometimes chaotic with bright shades and sometimes refined with softer colors. And sometimes even the mixture of the two allows us to see a gentle glimmer of hope in this fabulous world.
