Transforming thoughts, feelings and moods into colour and offerig the viewer the possibility to identify with them, that's my idea of art.
Artist | Art historian (M.A.)
Following her studies of the history of art and archaeology at the Julius-Maximilians-University in Würzburg/Germany, Claudia Hansen worked as an art historian & painting conservator, as well as a freelance children's book illustrator & artist.
Through her love for Van Gogh she developed a preference for Impressionist painting. Thus she created expressive pictures in bright colours, in which the oil paint is applied undiluted - sometimes directly from the tube - in thick layers on the canvas. The impressions of the sweeping palette knife strokes remain visible even after drying and give the paintings a fascinating, relief-like structure.
