Christian Vey is a contemporary award-winning French painter. He had a strong emotional reaction when he first started painting, and was determined to pursue the practice of creating artistic works. Reconnecting with the world of emotions, the artist feels the sensations of movement, speed, instantaneity, and spontaneity that he treasures when creating his work.

Vey considers color, the symbol of energy, as the raw material for his work because he wants to "see things through to the end." He is using oil paint to compose his figurative paintings, which are characterized by speed and movement.

The artist draws inspiration from a variety of artists, including Georges Laporte (for his marine motifs) and Corno (a Quebecois). Jazz is his passion, and he incorporates its rhythm and leitmotifs into his paintings. "Color has begun to replace musical notes, and improvisation has been incorporated, like in jazz," the artist explains.

Christian Vey was born in 1960, in Saint Etienne, France. He was exhibited in France, Austria, USA, Canada, Belgium. He won a silver and a gold medal at the Salon des Artistes in Saint Etienne.
