Christian Assel is a contemporary French painter. He spent 35 years as a graphic designer and ceramicist before enthusiastically pursuing painting. His paintings are primarily inspired by the act of painting itself, the joy of doing it, and the simple act of giving life to a blank canvas through the exacting, precise line he applies with the brush and the faithful replication of colors found in reality.

The incredible realism of his art is the first thing that stands out when one of these paintings is viewed. His artworks are prolific, and because of his clear technical proficiency, they give the feeling that one may reach out and touch the subjects.
