Auteur-photographe toujours à la recherche de ce petit plus dans l’éclairage qui pourrait transcender la photo, j’aime faire des expériences avec la lumière, notamment les contre-jours, pour métamorphoser une photo. J’avoue avoir un net penchant pour les toutes petites profondeurs de champ ou les poses longues, qui permettent d’obtenir des arrière-plans (bokehs) flous, à la manière d’une peinture.
« Dans la série “Forêts mystiques”, j’ai voulu montrer différents aspects de la forêt en hiver, dans le froid et la neige. En travaillant sur le mouvement. La texture de l’arbre est alors absorbée et les troncs se transforment en silhouettes, pour que le regard se porte sur la lumière et puisse ressentir toute cette énergie lumineuse qui nourrit la végétation.
Il s’agit d’une vison très épurée des arbres, enveloppés dans la neige. Suivant la lumière, la forêt peut se faire oppressante ou bienveillante. Quelques verticales seulement pour souligner le silence et la vitalité. Un espace vierge de l’homme.
Se concentrer sur la douceur qui émane de la lumière du matin et jouer sur les transparences pour insister sur la dimension poétique des arbres. »
Carole Reboul is an author-photographer constantly in search of that extra light that could transcend photography. She likes to experiment with light, especially backlighting, in order to transform a simple image.
