Carlos Vieira

Carlos Vieira is a photographer, who has always been attracted by editing, special effects, the art of making real what is not. Thanks to digital tools, he quickly oriented his work towards photo-montage and customizing works of art.

A constantly evolving artist, he never fails to discover and explore various techniques, which he develops to master them with precision, without losing his extreme sensitivity. Pen, ink, collage, acrylic paint and oil are disciplines he masters, without ever abandoning a single one.

It is with acrylic that he now creates works that are often well framed, with a composition based on simple but precise geometric shapes and areas of solid color. We can then appreciate a more or less marked graphic simplification, sometimes going to abstraction. Curtains, colors, lights and compositions attract attention to arouse emotions.

Carlos Vieira Mendes was born in central Angola in 1954. He is a graduate of the Air Force and an architect designer in civil engineering. He is an amateur and self-taught artist. He has lived in Lausanne (Switzerland) for more than 20 years.
