Aboriginal dot art is a well recognised style used by Australian Aboriginal artists. Emerging in the 1970s, it has become a medium for telling stories and enlivening culture.
The story here is that of a trip on a boat around my local lake.
Along the shores of Dewentwater there are eight jettys, depicted here in my DOT painting. where the lake cruisers locally known as launches stop for passengers to hop-on and hop-off/ each one with its own unique character. The main one is known as THE LANDING....

Along the shores of Dewentwater there are eight jettys, depicted here in my DOT painting. where the lake cruisers locally known as launches stop for passengers to hop-on and hop-off/ each one with its own unique character. The main one is known as THE LANDING. With views over the lake to distant mountains you can't help being inspired. The LANDINGS provide a great backdrop for local festivals. For me its an artists paradise.
The top left hand side is my home village known as Portinscale. The painting also tells the story of the route taken to our neighbouring town, Keswick.
Keswick is a great place to "Walkabout" you won't get lost if you buy my painting!
