et du Cornouiller mâle, qui donne une floraison jaune (petite ombelle et fleurs à pétales souvent réfléchis) en tout début de printemps, et dont les fruits rouges(drupes allongées) sont comestibles (surtout en gelées); les feuilles tombent précocement avant l'hiver !
"Cornacées" vient de corne, en référence à la dureté du bois des arbustes.
