Let me introduce myself: Bérengère Labarthe or Lab-Art. I am a French painter and sculptor, and more precisely, from Bordeaux, graduated from EDAAG and awarded the silver medal of the city of Bordeaux.
Very influenced by my childhood spent between France and Africa and through my travels around the world, I am very attracted to African-Oceanian primitive art.
After various exhibitions in France, I realized my little girl's dream, and joined a circus, first as a decorator, then through endless training, I became an aerial gymnast for 17 years around the world. While continuing my work as an artist, I enhance my works through the encounters made during this bohemian life.
Back in France after ten years on tour in the USA, I bring out my notes and sketches made throughout my travels to present to you these faces and animals from the four corners of the planet.
Some of my works are already collected in the USA, Sri Lanka, Germany and France
