«Si un battement d’ailes d’un papillon peut engendrer un ouragan, la même chose est vraie pour tous les autres battements d’ailes du même papillon, mais aussi pour les battements d’ailes des millions d’autres papillons, sans parler de l’influence des activités des innombrables autres créatures plus puissantes, comme les hommes par exemple!» Edward Lorenz

Benoit Delomez is a photographer and visual artist whose work has explored the landscape for more than twenty-five years. Whether in natural or urban environments, in motion or still, he seeks to magnify the landscape by always inscribing human presence.

His artistic approach is deeply linked to his immediate environment, which he questions in its environmental and architectural specificities. Benoit engages in reflection from the places he chooses, often extended in “in situ” installations during artist residencies. His works have been presented in various places such as the streets of Saint-Lô, the freedom tower at Mont Saint-Michel, or the Château de Lavagnac in Hérault, thus marking his commitment to exploring different territories and cultures across the world.

In his photographic installation work, Benoit Delomez constantly uses mixed techniques. He integrates the mirror and the volume in or on the image, playing with their polysemous and physical characteristics to create unique compositions. The association between photography and the mirror makes it possible to capture fragmented images, disrupting the usual reading references and opening new visual perspectives.

Graduated in Interior Architecture in 1985, Benoit Delomez chose to become a visual artist and photographer in 1992. His work has been widely exhibited and recognized, and he has benefited from numerous artist residencies as well as individual assistance to the creation on the part of the DRAC of Basse-Normandie. In addition to his artistic practice, he is also co-founder and organizer of artistic events, notably within the association "VAERTIGO" and the Contemporary Creation Center "2ANGLES" in Flers de l'Orne, in Normandy.

The Artist was highlighted in an article in Artmajeur Magazine:
