In her artistic universe, Clara BECQ strives to represent the complexity and diversity of the human race. It is by destructuring and restructuring the faces and bodies of men and women ad infinitum that the complexity is revealed. The colors are chosen with care and participate in the creation of a harmonious universe but in which we question the human condition. Everything is a question: time, multiculturalism, sexuality, the body, plural beauty, inaction, pleasure, idleness, contestation, contradiction, difficulty, etc...Through these canvases appear a multitude of emotions and feelings. Each man, each woman painted has not one face but multiple faces. These different faces are our different faces and symbolize the multiple personalities that a single person can possess.
