Caravaggio Cult (2010) Painting by Banne

Giovanni Balletta, per brevità BANNE, nasce a Napoli in un soleggiato 9 agosto del 1975.
I suoi approcci iniziali sono di tipo figurativo e con una raccolta di nudi e ritratti a matita partecipa ad una rassegna collettiva presso l’associazione “Help me” di Torino nel 2007. Le sue doti di disegnatore lo spingono a riprodurre per diletto le opere dei grandi artisti, passando con disinvoltura da Caravaggio a Picasso .Conteporaneamente, rapito dalle opere di grandi Maestri quali Salvatore Emblema, Pollock e Rothko ne studia la poetica, il gesto e l’essenza. La smaterializzazione dell’immagine elaborata da questi grandi maestri avrà una forte influenza sulla sua produzione successiva che terrà a battesimo con l’opera “Rethinking Emblema” (100 x 100 cm acrilico su pvc).

Oggi BANNE abbandona la tela per dedicarsi completamente al PVC, supporto che gli permette di sperimentare un nuovo tipo di approccio estetico. La luce sul, per e attraverso il dipinto, dove l’osservatore non è solo uno spettatore passivo ma un fruitore dell’opera, con immagini che si destreggiano tra una dichiarata multidisciplinarità. Affronta lo spazialismo con i suoi viaggi in trasparenze, l’arte urbana con l’utilizzo dei materiali e dei colori, senza dimenticare la sua “essenza” di grafico, in un’armonia di coesistenze che rendono la sua arte già la sua inimitabile firma.

Giovanni Balletta, for brevity BANNE, was born in Naples in sunned 9 an August of 1975. His intial approaches to the art are of figurative type and with a collection of nude portraits (pencil technique) participates to collective exhibtion with the association “Help me” in Turin in 2007. His designer talent permit to him to reproduce, for delight, the artworks of the great artists, easily passing from Caravaggio to Picasso. At the same time, he studies the works of great Masters which Salvatore Emblema, Pollock and Rothko with attention to the poetic, the gesture and the essence. The image, the space “rethinking concept” elaborated from these great Masters will have a strong infuence on its successive production that it will hold to baptism with the work “Rethinking Emblema” (100 x 100 cm acrylic on pvc).

Today BANNE abandons the canvas in order to dedicate himself completely to the PVC, support allows that it to experience a new type of aesthetic approach. The light on, for and through the painting, where the observer is not only a passive spectator but also the user-consumer of the artwork, with images that navigate between a declared multi conjugation. He faces the spazialism with its travels in transparencies, the street art with the materials and the colors, without to forget his “graphic essence”, in a harmony of cos-existence that trasform his art ito an inimitable signature.
