BASILIDES Bálint-Géza (Valentin ) was born in a Budapest-based family of artiste in 1944. In 1956 he emigrated to Neuchatel, Switzerland. After various occupations, he became a manager in the electronics industry. From 1955 he visited the painting courses of the noted Swiss watercolorist Pierre Beck. He and his wife made several study tours of Italy, Greece, Israel, Turkey, the Sinai and France. In 1998 Valentin quit his career in industrial management to devote himself wholly to painting. Since 1999, he has lived and worked near Lake Balaton (Cserszegtomaj) with his painter wife. He is member of the International Free Art Colony of Cseszegtomaj and the Mednyánszky Compagny. He also teaches watercolour painting.
