He pursued his studies in fine arts at Saint-Etienne from 1992 to 1996, during which time he found inspiration in the works of Henri Matisse and Claude Viallat, whose influences would shape his artistic direction.

Residing and creating in his hometown of Saint-Etienne, Baboute's artistic journey was guided by mentors Philippe Louisgrand and Philippe Favier, under whose tutelage he graduated in 1996.
