"Postergum Urraca", Oil painting with pallet knife and brush on linen canvas 73/54 cm

The Chalice of Doña Urraca is one that is actually believed to be the Holy Grail that Jesus drank from at the Last Supper. It is not but you may now wonder exactly why it is important to mention Doña Urraca at all. The Holy Grail is shaped after the chalice that belonged to Urraca of Zamora, who later donated it to the Basilica of San Isidoro de León. It is said to remain there at this very moment but, though it is not the Holy Grail, it is its counterpart.
Goblet Urraca consists of two pieces of agate-onyx together by a frame of gold. Top, cup-shaped, is covered by a hemispherical bowl of this metal, attached to a fitting way to golden crown decorated with precious and semiprecious stones, seed pearls and a cameo in which appears a face.In the stand and before the knot is an inscription in golden filigree pointing the name and affiliation of the donor: IN NOMINE D(OM)MINE. VRRACA FREDINA(N)DI

As an artist of Romanian origin residing in France, I am self-taught and deeply influenced by the complexities of life, my personal emotions, and spirituality. My artwork has garnered recognition and appreciation around the world, and it's been showcased in private collections in several countries, including the USA, France, Belgium, England, the Netherlands, the UK, Italy, Malaysia, and Romania. In addition, my art has also been featured on the walls of renowned institutions like the Elysee Palace and NASA Houston.

A Personal Approach

As an artist, I prefer working in series, each of which is centered around a specific theme that communicates a message or even a history lesson. A series usually comprises 11-to-22 paintings, all created within a year. These themes are unique to each series, and so is the technique utilized, which often gives the impression that they were painted by different artists.

My style of painting has been described as "intelligent painting" due to its innovative nature. I use a range of materials to create my pieces, including acrylics, oils, gold or silver leaf, paper, and coarse paste. I also employ a variety of tools, including brushes, sponges, palette knives, and even my fingers, to bring my ideas to fruition.
