For my series of paintings "Far Eastern Venuses" I was inspired by the national costume and mountain landscapes of the places where my heroines come from.
This figure shows the image of a dancing girl in the national Buryat costume. I depict her scarf in the form of a mountain range known as Barguzinsky. I draw it with lines that look like tangled threads. By this I want to show that man and his land are as if woven from the same thread.
A person contains information about the culture of his people, about the land where he comes from. It is this connection that I display in my paintings.

Ink

A strongly tinted liquid or paste that is used to mark paper or other printable materials. The design is done manually with a slab, feather, brush, or straightener.

Watercolor

Watercolor is a painting in which gum arabic binds transparent pigments revealing the support of the painting. The gouache, of identical composition, is opaque. A watercolor is a water-based painting on paper. We rarely speak of a painting for a work painted in watercolor. Watercolor paintings are considered to be a unique way to creatively represent dreams, illusions, emotions and luminous feelings using water soluble pigments. However, painting with watercolors can be difficult. It's a difficult medium to master, in large part because it can be ruthless and unpredictable. Mistakes are difficult to correct and its fluid nature makes it difficult to control. Yet it is these very qualities that give the medium its undeniable charm.

Figurative and colorful painting having taken the liberty of including all forms of art without border of cultural genre and geographic origin, without hierarchy of values between high and subculture.

Technic Drawing

Drawing is a technique of visual representation on a flat support. The term "drawing" designates both the action of drawing, the resulting graphic work, and the shape of any object. It is also a representation on a surface of the shape (and possibly the light and shadow values) of an object or figure, rather than their color. There are a large number of drawing techniques: “Linear drawing” represents objects by their outlines, edges and some characteristic lines; beyond this limit, the drawing develops by representing the volume by shadows, often by means of hatching, incorporates colors, and joins, without clear transition, the painting.

Anastasiya Dashevskaya

Russia

Anastasia Dashevskaya - a russian artist born in 1990 in Moscow. Received one of the best academic art education in Russia at the Moscow State Academic Art Institute of V.I. Surikov, the Russian Academy of Arts; and Moscow State Academic Art School of 1905, the faculty of scenography. A member of the Moscow Union of Artists and a scholarship holder of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

Lives and works in the city of Dolgoprudny, Moscow region.

During her training period, she practiced in several Moscow theaters in various monumental techniques, such as Italian fresco, sgraffito, stained glass.

One of the major themes in her work emerged after visiting Kamchatka peninsula. In 2013 Anastasia finished a large work “The Life of Kamchatka” about the life and problems of small indigenous peoples during the Soviet times. This theme gave rise to a series of original landscapes of the far east of Russia in the form of mountains associated with portraits of real women, the indigenous inhabitants of those places. This series is currently being worked on.
Since 2015 she has been working with northeastern mountain landscapes and images of animals from the Far East.

Later her maternal experience formed the basis of the “Woman” series, where female figures contribute to original landscapes in the form of rivers, islands and mountains.

In painting, Anastasia prefers to work in oil on canvas. She relishes the technique of multi-layer painting, when the lower layer of paint slightly shines through the upper one. This technique traces her experience of working with Italian fresco and follows traditions of Russian iconography.

In her work Anastasia was influenced and inspired by artists such as Peter Doig, Mark Rothko and the Chinese artist Zhang Daqian. Anastasia's paintings were exhibited at the exhibitions in London and Rome and published in the Russian Art magazine. Her works are in private collections in Russia, USA, UK and China.
