“Cuestión de género VI” (2013) es una obra perteneciente a la serie Cuestión de género de la artista malagueña Adela Casado. En esta producción, tal y como la propia artista expone, se plantean varias reflexiones “¿Los atributos físicos son la persona?”, “¿Su forma determina la feminidad o masculinidad?”, “¿Qué es la persona?”, “Muchas creencias son muros al desarrollo integral de la persona” y “Tolerancia Cero a la discriminación”.
Con este cuadro la autora quiere hacer una crítica de la presión que ejerce la sociedad sobre los individuos para que se definan con uno u otro género, además de obligarles a hacer coincidir este con el sexo biológico. Ya que si no lo hacen así se exponen a una situación de marginación. “Cuestión de género VI” muestra que los cuerpos y la persona no vienen ya definidos y encasillados en una categorización estanca, sino que son lienzos en blanco. Al principio todas las cuestiones que forman lapersonalidad son interrogantes, y a medida que vivimos nuestras interacciones con lo que nos rodea nos crea unas u otras actitudes. Por ello la personalidad también es un constructo social.
Adela Casado, con su obra, propone un nuevo modelo de feminidad en el que no se utilicen etiquetas preestablecidas para definir a un individuo según sus atributos físicos. En este nuevo modelo de feminidad se propone dejar crecer libremente al individuo y que cree su propia personalidad según sus vivencias, para que asílas mujeres sean todas aquellas que quieran autodefinirse y se sientan mujeres."

Adela Casado Cano (Málaga, Spain), plastic artist, professional psychologist, cultural promoter, specialized in social, gender and environmental issues. Gold Medal of the European Forum 2001 for professional prestige.

Participates in national and international art fairs, with a wide presence in art galleries, both face-to-face and virtual. His work is part of the Contemporary Art Collection of the Museo del Pescador de Tenerife, the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo José Antonio Segovia, and is projected on the façade of the Museo Reina Sofía in Madrid.
However, he categorically affirms his greatest source of pride is the classroom that has repeatedly been named after him " classe Adela Casado "of 5-year-old Preschool, from Scola Miquel Martí i Pol, from Viladecans, Barcelona (classroom next to those of Miró, Monet or Kandinsky, depending on the year).

Her A work of contemporary style, it stands out for its psychological analysis and the firmness of its philosophical nuances, influenced by the neo-conceptual movement, where the correct handling of the symbol takes on the projective force of human, telluric and universal energies, immersing us beyond the apparent and showing possible realities.

With a prior approach to the concept she wants to capture, Adela approaches the white canvas, sure of what she wants. With passion, creative freedom and starting from basic premises, his thick and energetic strokes, in bright and primary colours, define large spaces with volumes of essential shapes, developing an unmistakable art. His work is a quantum incursion into the bowels of reality.

On sex and gender, with his work, he questions models of masculinity and femininity proposing a new model of person, beyond his physical attributes, without pre-established labels on sex and gender roles. Free people developing from their experiences of interrelation, with no other definitions than self-definitions, which will vary throughout their lives... because we are not born defined.
