Alguma informação sobre a pintura/Some information about:

In english: This painting represents a woman from Alentejo, a region in southern Portugal, painting the façade of your home. To define this action in the Alentejo it is said that "the woman is whitewashing" (in this case we would say “bluing” the wall. In this region of Portugal usually the people speak with the verbs in the gerund :) ). Normally the facades are painted with white lime (limestone diluted in water ) to which is added colorant powdered to get the desired colors for the bars. To paint the bars the most used colors are ultramarine blue, cobalt blue and yellow ocher. But there are houses also with gray bars, cerulean blue bars, etc. The women of this region of Portugal are always paint the facades of their homes, so everything is always very clean and full of light. In hamlets, villages and small towns from Alentejo are like that: everything is white, or white with colored bars, with red roofs, very clean, with lots of flowers and very kind people. (see, for exemple, my paintings “The Colors of Marvão”, “Évora’s Street”,”The Blue Window”, “Calvary Chapel”, etc.)
