Guilaine was born in the French caribbean island of Guadeloupe, then moved to France were she spent a great part of her life. She has been living in the UK for more than a decade. Coming from a family who had a musical, craft and design background,
Guilaine automatically developed some great interests for the art, craft and design world. Her passion to become a fine artist came from her numerous visits to art museums, art galleries, art
fairs but also from her meeting with some underground artists in the city of Paris. Seeing the work of others inspired her to create her own. It is after the choc of the loss of her loving father in
2009 that Guilaine started to give concrete expression to her dream and embarked on the journey of experimentation in order to become the self-taught artist she dreamed of being all along. After
testing different mediums she fell in love with acrylic due to its flexibility. Her current art work is figurative, with predominantly female characters coming from her imagination, depicting her personal dream of a world much in alignment with the real values of life.Guilaine identifies her work as being the art of the soul.
