At the source of my approach is an existential view of life: who are we in the face of this infinite universe? Having an empiricist approach, my life experiences become, in a way, integral parts of my artistic approach, including my crossing of the Atlantic in 1991: melting into this infinity that obsesses me; the sky, the sea and the stars.

But it all started with "From Quebec to La Rochelle via the pebbles".

Thus, from 1991 to 2000, I live on a boat in the old port of La Rochelle. It was then that I discovered the pebbles of the beaches of the Ile de Ré and the surrounding area. I immediately make the connection with the boats of my ancestors who, when they returned from France, were ballasted with pebbles from Quebec. These were used to pave the port of La Rochelle.

I then drew inspiration from their shape in order to paint old rigging, fish and later, commissioned portraits from photo.

Next comes a series of sanguines on Canson paper which represent scenes from the period (the old market, the fishermen returning to port and of course, the famous towers). It is with these that I present my request to the city in order to be selected to exhibit on the port. I am accepted.

For two consecutive years, I have had the pleasure of being in direct contact with people. It’s a most rewarding experience!

In addition to red chalk, I also do pastels (looks of different ethnic groups, children…), watercolors and inks. You could also find my paintings at the Mary Wind galleries on the Ile de Ré and La Rochelle.

Back home, summer 2000, I experimented with a new form of artistic expression that I call of “transpersonal” art. This form of art seems to me to be the logical culmination of my initial approach.

I became a member of the collective of the gallery “âme art” du Mile-end in Montreal. I had a solo exhibition there in 2003. I took part in the Festival des arts du Village in the summer of 2001 and 2002. I also exhibited at the Galerie Parchemine in old Montreal from October 2001 to May 2002 and at the arts market in "Sleepless night on blackboard".

Finally, there was an important stoppage, a stoppage of rebuilding another life.

From 2015 to 2019, I participated in group exhibitions at the Hors-Cadre gallery in Knowlton (Lac Brome) and led mandala workshops in the region.

In the summer of 2019, I' I created with a friend a group of Sketchers "The Sketchers of Knowlton Sketchers" (see our Facebook page). We crunch every Monday from June to September in our beautiful region of the Eastern Townships (Quebec, Canada). Out of season, we offer the group one sketch per week that we can find in our indoor environment.

2022 will be my 5th year participating in Inktober's challenge to draw one drawing a day for the 31 days of October.

I also discovered another passion: rock balancing.

And the adventure continues...
