Janis Zingitis is a contemporary Latvian painter. He considers realistic representation to be the ultimate level of abstraction, because humans can only perceive a small portion of reality. He aims to catch the soul of the world and transmit it to others through his compositions. He's worked with watercolors, pastels, acrylics, and collage in the past. He is currently rediscovering his passion for oil painting.

Janis Zingitis was born in 1973, in Latvia, where he graduated from the Art Academy of Latvia. He has exhibited nationally as well as in Austria.
