"Collet monté suggestif" inspirée du titre de l'article sur la mode des maillots de bain en 1958 "Mais à Paris, c'est le collet monté cependant très suggestif, qui triomphe !"
L'expression remonte au XVIe siècle à la cour autour de Catherine de Médicis qui aimait bien lancer des modes, dont celle du collet monté, pièce de tissu enroulé autour du cou (d'où le "collet") et rigidifié vers le haut (d'où le "monté") à l'aide de carton, de fil de fer et d'empois, une substance collante et épaisse à base d'amidon, destinée à "empeser" le tissu (le "monté" fait aussi allusion à l'armature sur laquelle est "montée" l'étoffe).
