François Jornod was born in June 1955 in Neuchâtel. He completed university training and currently teaches English in Neuchâtel. He lives in Boudry. He always had a taste for painting but only painted occasionally until 1993, when one of his children had to be hospitalized. He then felt an intense need to express himself through painting and this passion has not left him since.

In his paintings, he expresses his emotions through very contrasting colors, in a spontaneous movement, often violent then suddenly rhythmic, even peaceful. Certain themes such as trees - often bare - or suns reappear regularly in his work. He works as an autodidact and has already had several personal and group exhibitions in the canton and in Switzerland.
