Woman in Art: A Tribute through African Figurativism
On the occasion of International Women's Day, we pay tribute to this special event with an exclusive collection created to celebrate femininity through figurative art. This collection is inspired by African figurative art, a painting and sculptural style that, in its many variations and peculiarities, has captured and enhanced one of the most fascinating subjects in art history: women.
The term modern figurative refers to the painting and sculptural style adopted by artists who, from the post-World War II period onwards, chose to maintain and renew artistic representation inspired by reality and mimesis. This approach opposes the predominant trend between the 1950s and 1970s of completely abandoning painting and sculpture as expressive forms, instead favoring conceptual art, informal art, and performance arts.
The African artistic language, with its unique expressive forms, intense colors, and stylized lines, tells the story of women in their entirety: mothers, warriors, keepers of tradition, and symbols of beauty and inner strength. Each piece in this collection embodies a fragment of their history, highlighting the central role of women in African culture and the world of art.
Join us in this celebration of art and femininity. Discover our collection and let yourself be inspired by the evocative power of African figurative art, which has always told stories of extraordinary women.
