Francesco Bortolotti is a contemporary Italian painter. His study of the techniques of the great Masters and his reproduction of the work of the Italian romantic painter Francesco Hayez lead him to create his strictly figurative works, which are the result of his confrontation with historical tradition as well as with nature. Portraits and female figures are Bortolotti’s favorite subjects.
Francesco Bortolotti was born in 1971, in Italy, where he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts of Florence, with a thesis about the origin of oil painting and its technical developments during the XV and XVI centuries in Italy and Flanders.
