André Nadal is an important player in contemporary optical art. His extremely pure artistic expression consists essentially of black and white images. These two materials, matte or shiny, combined with meticulous brushing and smoothing techniques, create a three-dimensional world. Cubes, calligraphy, compaction of feathers and floating objects make up his pictorial universe.

His works appeal to the senses and communicate through the emotion they arouse. His monochrome architectural constructions are complex and precise, and the play of light and shadow on his canvases allow multiple readings. These floating compositions become an invitation to travel through space and time. The artist has created his own world, a haven of tranquility and contemplation.

André Nadal was born in Oran, Algeria in 1952 and grew up in the south of France, in the Perpignan region. From an early age, he was fascinated by drawing and pursued secondary studies in industrial design. He then enrolled at the School of Fine Arts in Perpignan, then pursued a career as an interior designer. He claims to have discovered abstract painting while playing with his two-year-old daughter in the 1980s. After a series of trips abroad, notably to the United States, he decided to devote himself to painting rather than industrial design. . Since 2007, he divides his time between his studio in the south of France and his Paris studio. His work has been exhibited in many galleries (DUPRE&DUPR3, Bel air Fine art...)
