Né à Paris en 1978, Arnaud Gautron est artiste visuel. Après une formation initiale de Grande Ecole, il développe parallèlement depuis 2001 une pratique de création d’images de commande et de recherches plastiques propres.

Il considère peinture, dessin, photo et images en mouvement comme moyens de son expression artistique. Il réalise plusieurs expositions collectives et personnelles, notamment Incarno (Galerie Oberkampf, Paris, 2010), En attendant l’hiver (Utopicerie, Paris, 2006) et Lignes d’horizons (Arc et Senans, 2009). Il est édité par Eyrolles dans les Cahiers du Designer — Peinture numérique, en 2002.

Il se passionne pour le rapport entre image et son. Il collabore ainsi régulièrement avec des musiciens : performances de peinture sur scène avec l’artiste pop Raldub en 2005, films vidéo expérimentaux avec le collectif Nuz ou le compositeur électronique et électroacoustique Rui Emmanuel Candeias depuis 2006…

Il ajoute en 2010 le théâtre à son champ d’expérimentation, avec une résidence au CDN de Thionville-Lorraine, pour la création d’un décor vidéo de La Tache de Mariotte, mise en scène d’Eric Petitjean.

Il crée Sonoptis avec Sébastien Chatron, compositeur et interpète acousmatique. Il conçoit et fabrique la sphérapulse, sculpture d’aluminium au cœur d’un dispositif de projection vidéo complexe. Leur spectacle, Le Dialogue de la Sphérapulse et de l’Acousmonium est présenté à l’occasion de la 9e Nuit Bleue, en juillet 2010.

Durant l’été 2011, il accompagne pendant 6 semaines le poète et sonographe Pascal Rueff, pour une résidence artistique d’observation des territoires contaminés autour de Tchernobyl, Ukraine.

Après 34 ans passés à Paris, il vit et travaille désormais en Bretagne, dans les Côtes d’Armor où il trouve un environnement favorable au développement des visions expressionnistes de son imaginaire. Sa réflexion artistique repose sur l’étude des rapports entre individu et l’espace-temps, dans une démarche de recherche et d’assemblage permanents de ses différentes pratiques.
